Hello! I am Elizaveta Bomash MA and Art Ally is my initiative to support collaborations between the art field and other sectors. Here I combine my 15+ years of experience in arts management and my interest in the role arts and culture play in sustainability.

Art Ally supports peer-to-peer human cooperation between arts & culture and other sectors to achieve together sustainable development goals.

My vision is for organisations that work towards a sustainable future to be matched with superpowers that the art field has.

ART ALLY VALUES

PROCESS-ORIENTATION. Establishing relationships and trust is a process. Art Ally is a place to look for new connections and find the right match to start developing relationships and projects together.

COOPERATION. Art Ally believes in multidisciplinary collaborations and complementary skillsets. We work according to the principles of transparency, respect, and openness.

DIVERSITY. We need more opportunities to meet colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds. Either in the country you are living, the Nordic – Baltic region, EU or beyond. Art Ally aims to assist in starting these connections with precision.

Is it research-based?

The idea of a partner-search algorithm is based on two concepts.

One is the weak ties (i.e. Granovetter, 1974), which is a connection between two individuals. This is also a connection between two different networks. Weak ties are the most effective connections for sharing information. We noticed how different sectors respond to common challenges in different ways and believe in sharing the best practices.

Another concept is the role of a diverse network as a signal mechanism (i.e. Chua, 2018). It communicates a common interest or concern to the members of the network. In the Art Ally framework, the sustainable development goals are the broad themes for matchmaking. We believe this approach is encouraging for those working towards the most important goals we face as humankind.
